Cosied in a basement, the restaurant is full of atmosphere and character, where candlelight warms the natural stone walls and the finest of Edinburgh’s fine food is served. Café Voices – Love Springs Eternal: Scottish Storytelling Centre – Thursday 14th Feb

For something a wee bit different, celebrate with your significant other by joining guest storyteller Claire Hewitt for an evening of loving stories – love shows itself in all forms, sometimes when we’re least expecting it…

Café Voices is the Centre’s monthly storytelling session, with an open-floor section for storytellers to tell their own tales, all in the relaxed surroundings of the Storytelling Court.

Valentine’s Recital by candlelight – Friday 15th February

If you’re truly looking to woo that someone special or score off-the-chart Brownie points for romance, then this candlelit piano recital is for you. The venue is the historic, atmospheric St. Giles Cathedral; the mood will be set by glowing candlelight; the evening’s performance a recital by acclaimed pianist Daniel Grimwood. Featuring beautiful pieces, full of emotion, including Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, this is one Valentine’s you won’t forget in a hurry.
