We are delighted to announce that we were named Residential Letting Team of the Year, for the second year in a row, at last week’s prestigious Scottish Home Awards.

In an incredible achievement, our small At Home In Edinburgh team of just four beat off fierce competition from across Scotland to win the honour for the second time – in only our second year of entering the awards.

The Scottish Home Awards

The Scottish Home Awards independent award programme celebrates excellence in Scotland’s housing and housebuilding industry and is now in its 16th year. More than 600 guests joined host Des Clarke on 22nd June at the Doubletree by Hilton in Glasgow for the prestigious awards dinner, including Residential Letting Team of the Year finalists Albany Letting, Cairn Estate and Letting Agency, Clan Gordon, Stonehouse Lettings, and Watt Property.

The Residential Letting Team of the Year award category acknowledges the importance of the Scottish private rental property sector. In announcing our award win, judges praised our clear and concise strategy which underpinned great results, and the excellent relationships we form and maintain with both tenants and landlords.

At Home In Edinburgh success

For those who don’t already know us, our team of four operate from our Marchmont office, led by husband-and-wife directors Rick and Vicky McCann. With extensive Edinburgh lettings experience, they spotted a gap in the city’s private rental market for an approachable agency focused on providing a personal service. Since opening our doors in 2011 the business has gone from strength to strength with an ever-increasing client base, with most new landlords coming to us via word-of-mouth recommendations.

Director Rick McCann said: “We are incredibly proud to be named Residential Letting Team of the Year at the Scottish Home Awards – for the second year in a row! It’s a huge achievement for our small team, and we’re delighted to receive such recognition in this competitive industry.

“The rental property market has experienced considerable challenges over the last few years, driving us to find ways to innovate to support our clients and to keep tenants in their homes. At the same time, we were able to recognise and seize market opportunities, ensuring our continued growth.

“We’d like to thank Citylets for their continued sponsorship of the award and extend congratulations to the other finalists.”

Our award-winning submission demonstrated how we used our size and agility to our advantage in supporting clients while tackling the challenges of the global cost of living crisis, changes in private rental sector legislation, and limited rental stock.

This second Scottish Home Awards honour follows At Home In Edinburgh’s recognition by allAgents, the UK property industry’s largest customer review website, which awarded our family business the gold award for Best Letting Agent in the City of Edinburgh 2022.

Director Vicky McCann added: “It’s a fantastic feeling to know that the way we choose to do business means that we can rival some of the bigger names in the Scottish private rental market, and we are very proud of all that we have achieved. We don’t aim to be Edinburgh’s biggest letting agency, but instead, the friendliest and most efficient – loved by landlords and trusted by tenants. Winning this award for the second year running really reinforces our reputation within the competitive private rental sector.”

The Residential Letting Team of the Year award is sponsored by Citylets, Scotland’s certified leading portal for property to rent.

Gillian Semmler, PR Manager at Citylets, said: “Congratulations and well done to At Home in Edinburgh on winning ‘Residential Letting Team of the Year’ for a second year running at the Scottish Home Awards. It’s particularly challenging market conditions for letting agents and it was a pleasure to present the well-deserved award to the team on the night. Congratulations to the other finalists in the category for reaching this stage.”

Colin Cumberland, chair of the Scottish Home Awards judging panel, and head of residential at Ediston Real Estate, commented: “The standard of the submissions and the effort put forward by the organisations to win these prestigious awards has been impressive this year. On behalf of the judging panel, we would like to congratulate all the finalists and winners that took part.”
