The team at At Home in Edinburgh want to share with you some of the fantastic yet affordable places to eat in Edinburgh.
The Pink Oink
The Pink Oink offers delicious Scottish hog roast rolls. The shop was formed by farmers and serves meat from the Scottish Borders farms. They have two shops located in the Grassmarket and on Cannongate. Prices vary from £2.95 to £4.95.
The Mosque Kitchen is one of our favorite places. It has plentiful selection of curry and kebab dishes. Their food is authentic and they offer a student discount.
Stockbridge market is an open air food market situated in the Stockbridge area of Edinburgh. The market is on every Sunday and has a wide selection of street food stalls. We love the Spanish Paella and the Tennessee BBQ wraps from Gusto who make all their own marinades and sauces. Try the Steampunk Coffee served from the beautiful Volkswagen van.
The Royal Mile Tavern
The Royal Mile tavern is situated in the heart of Edinburgh´s Old town, on the Royal Mile. If you want to try an authentic haggis, this is your place. It is open everyday and offers an enormous selection of drinks, including over 100 different whiskys.
Under the shadow of Edinburgh´s South bridge is OX184, a bar-restaurant and late night venue. Renowned for its wood-fired grill, craft beer and whisky.
Bread Meats Bread
Bread Meats Bread on Lothian Road offers generous portion sizes with lots of fresh, tasty good food. The pastrami Burguer and the Poutine are a serious guilty pleasure!
