Glastonbury Festival, Pilton, Somerset: 22-26 Jun 2016
This is one of the UK´s oldest and most famous festivals. With an extraordinary atmosphere and outstanding variety of music, this festival is in a world of its own. Attendees can expect a massive venue, with various stages and top artists such as Adele, ZZ top, Savages, Baaba Maal, Santigold or ELO. Despite its 180000 capacity, getting hold of tickets can prove very difficult.
T in the Park, Strathallan Castle, Perthshire, Scotland: 8-10 Jul 2016
T in the Park is one of Scotland’s most impressive festivals. This year will be the second in it’s new home, the beautiful Strathallan Castle in Perthshire. Artists such as The Stone Roses, Calvin Harris, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Disclosure, Bastille or Tom Odell will be performing this year.
Kelburn Garden Party, Kelburn Castle,near Largs, Ayshire 1-4 July 2016
Hosted on the grounds of a 13th century castle, decorated by Brazilian graffiti artists and run by the family of the resident Lord Glasgow, Kelburn Garden Party turns the park’s woodlands into a magical wonderland. A selection of local acts, as well as a few better-known names, help Kelburn Garden Party maintain its family feel. Some of the artists featured this year are Hiatus Kaiyote, James Lavelle and Admiral Fallow.
Latitude Festival, Henham Park, Southwold: 14-17 Jul 2016
Latitude Festival is much more than just a music festival. With DJs hidden in the surrounding woods, colourful sheep roaming the fields, opera on the lake, film debuts in the on-site cinema, clowns, actors, dance troupes and a children´s area, there is truely something for everyone.
Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival, Edinburgh 15-24 July 2016
The Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival is another city-wide event that features a mixture of well-known and promising young, local musicians. The likes of George Benson, Hidden Orchestra and Ambrose Akinmusire are some of the most high-profile acts.
The Secret Garden Party, Mill Hill Field, Cambridgeshire: 21-24 July 2016
Silliness is the order of the day at The Secret Garden Party. Paint fights, wacky dancers, mass fancy dress and weird art installations make this event the most surreal and imaginative festival of all. Everything at The Secret Garden Party has an out-of-this-world feel. Artists performing this year include Caribou, The Temper Trap, Primal Sream, Air and Beardy Man.
Wilderness, Cornbury Park, Oxfordshire: 4-7 August 2016
At Oxfordshire Wilderness festival, art, culture and food are as important as music. This year Rober Plant, The Flaming Lips and Crystal Fighters will be playing. There will also be debates, photography exhibitions, cricket, croquet, real ale and even a chance to learn about perfume-making.
