A guide to Edinburgh festival Letting…by Julie Houlden – June 2013

There are many options available to festival visitors, with something to suit every need and every budget. The short-term lets in the summer are ideal for those who want to experience the festival in all its glory and these range from a few nights to a month. You can choose from a selection of self-catering apartments in the city, giving you easy access to festival events that are taking place night and day. One-bedroom apartments will sleep 2 people and you can enjoy the comfort of a home away from home while you are here, rather than opting for an expensive hotel room that has little character.

Choose from a variety of city locations, such as Leith where you can rent an apartment within the Vaults, or on Lothian Road with views of the magnificent castle. An attic studio in Old Town will give you a cultural hideaway close to the ancient squares and streets of the city and many of the festival activities are a stone’s throw away from here. Alternatively, a flat in the Meadows is walking distance from the Pleasance, Newington and Teviot, meaning that you are literally a few steps from festival fun.

Renting in Edinburgh during the festival is the perfect way to experience the events taking place around you and many of the flats available are in prime locations, making them perfectly suited to festival visitors, as you can walk to each venue and you have all the freedom you need to make your stay as flexible as possible. Festival rentals are ideal for families too, who want home comforts during their stay.
