The Edinburgh Festival draws thousands of visitors every August with its programme of lively, liberating and cultural events, and the city becomes a bustling and colourful hive of activity throughout the entire month. There are festivals running throughout the year of course, with the two weeks around Hogmanay being particularly busy. The Edinburgh Festival is the main attraction during the summer however and visitors are advised to book their accommodation well in advance, as prices rise and space is limited in August itself.
